ENTERTAINMENT
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Myrtle Beach is rapidly becoming the entertainment center
of the East and is already referred to by many as "the Branson
of the South". With the recent addition of several live musical
theaters featuring variety shows, country music and performances
featuring numerous celebrity artists, visitors are treated
to a wide variety of family entertainment. The Palace Theatre
with their uniquely entertaining Le Grande Cirque,
supergroup, Alabama (who started their career in Myrtle Beach),
The Dixie Stampede, House of Blues, The Carolina Opry, Fantasy
Harbour and Broadway at the Beach all call Myrtle Beach their
home. In addition to the variety of theaters, visitors enjoy
the many waterparks, miniature golf courses, amusement parks
and attractions such as Ghosts
and Legends that the area has to offer. The Grand Strand also
attracts guests who enjoy the many fishing piers and charter
fishing fleets. At night, you don't have to look far to find
numerous nightclubs (including under 21 dance clubs) where
you can dance and listen to live and recorded music. The Shag
(South Carolina's state dance) began in Myrtle Beach and each
year thousands of people visit the area to enjoy the SOS (Society
of Stranders) reunion in the Spring and Fall.
